Expanded Duties Dental Assisting Requirements
Title: Dental Auxiliary qualified in designated expanded functions
In order to perform expanded functions, dental assistants in the District of Columbia must complete a training program approved by one of the following regulatory boards:

  • CERP
  • CODA
  • DANB

Radiography Requirements

  • Pass a course or exam recognized by CERP
  • Be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Complete the coursework and pass the national DANB radiation health and safety (RHS) exam
